THE SELF-SCAFFOLDING FRAMEWORK
A conceptual framework for understanding state-dependent Functional Access
A central concept in the framework is Functional Access: the degree to which a person can access and sustain existing capacities under the conditions present at a given moment.

What the Framework Provides
The framework provides a shared language for distinguishing capacity from access, recognising patterns in functioning, and considering how support or adjustment may be used when access varies.
“Self-Scaffolding is presented as a conceptual framework and does not function as a clinical intervention or diagnostic system.”
